Faces of Qatar :: Update / by Mohammed Ismail

Hey guys, what is up!

After receiving a great deal of interest from you, the community, I have had to think of the best way to go about this project.

Before I get onto that, I just wanted to say that this whole project is not just about taking pictures of random people living in Qatar, it's about creating images of the spirit of this place; that means taking the voice of the people involved in this project (that's you awesome people) and transforming that voice into a single frame.

Why am I saying this? Well, I just wanted to ensure the aim (see my previous blog post) of this project is not lost. I want to be true to this project as it means a lot to me and I believe it would mean a lot to the people living here once it is completed. I am therefore putting this in writing so I can hold myself accountable at the end of each shoot - was the spirit of the project upheld? Does this project tell the stories of the people - the real people (not photoshopped or airbrushed to oblivion) - that make up this wonderfully diverse place? If at the end of the day we can yes to both of these questions, then we have succeeded.

So if you are interested in being a part of this project, send me a message via the contact form with your name, age and place of origin and we can go from there.

Peace.

Mohammed
